Abstract

In Antananarivo, the demand for jobs requiring job creation is very high compared to the supply of infrastructure able to meet it. Therefore, the sustainable urban development policy applied in Antananarivo for the proper management of rural-urban migration, leading to the improvement of the urban job market, raises interest in seeing the case of things. The issue arises on: how does rural-urban migration help to improve the urban job market through sustainable urban development policy? And the hypothesis refers as follows: sustainable urban development policy promotes the management system of rural-urban migration for the creation of environmentally friendly employment in a city. The quantitative method and triangulation with the use of available statistical data for the Ambohipo neighborhood provided by the officials form the methodology of this article. Furthermore, literature reviews on the subject are also to be considered. Thus, the result indicates the consistency of the impact of sustainable urban development policy in the face of the spatial saturation of the neighborhood. The latter leads to a lack of infrastructure favorable to the population’s commercial activities. Hence, the importance of managing rural-urban migration within the said neighborhood.
